Karity Cosmetics Nudes & Rudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

Nude & Rude Eyeshadow Palette
Karity Cosmetics 15 Nudes & Rudes Eyeshadow Palette

Karity Cosmetics is US company that aims to "sell directly to you, [they] cutout all the extra markups that make all those other fancy brands so pricey." I first heard about them on Youtube, and when I recently saw they were launching 3 nude palettes, I decided it was time to try them out. I'm a neutral girl, and I picked out the 15 Nudes and Rudes palette. This palette consists of 5 frost, 3 satin, 2 matte, 2 velvet, and 2 metal, and 1 duochrome. This palette is also cruelty free, paraben free and vegan.

I really like that this palette isn't too warm and not too cool. It's very neutral, and it has it's own appeal. I feel like I have so many palette that are very warm and others that are very cool. When using this palette, and especially the shimmer shades, keep the finishes in mind. They are not all metallic. Often, I expect shimmers to be foiled or metallic and that's not always the case.

Overall, I really love this palette. I have no fall out when I use it and the pigment is great. I feel like the colors offer alot of variety, and the palette has it's own spin on being a "neutral" palette. The shadows come in sturdy cardboard packaging, and it does have a mirror. The size is not bulky and great for travel. I feel like this palette is very universal for a variety of skin tones. I would love to try more Karity products, I'm all about affordable makeup and affordable shipping to Canada. This price for this palette was 25$ and I believe I had a discount code applied.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer Review

Bye Bye Under Eye
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye is a full coverage, anti-aging waterproof concealer. It has a thicker consistency, that works well when you warm it up in your fingers before applying. I have pretty dark circles under my eyes, and I don't have to use a corrector when using this product. A little goes a long way, and it works well with my dry skin.

I really like that this product is waterproof, because it doesn't budge all day. I do set it with a little powder, but I always set my face. Even though this is a thick formula, I don't feel like I have to tug at my skin. I usually use a beauty sponge to blend it out. This is one of my top 3 concealers that I use in my rotation.

I haven't tried many products from It Cosmetics, it's not that easy to get in Canada. We have to order online, and it seems limited. I'm hoping that they will launch in our Sephora's soon. If you're looking for a high coverage concealer, I would recommend this one.

B H Cosmetics Spotlight Highlighter Palette

Spotlight Palette
B H Cosmetics Spotlight Palette

B H Cosmetics released two highlighter palettes, and I purchased the Spotlight palette. It has 6 large pans that would flatter a wide range of skintones. The shades range from a pearly white, pinky, copper and bronze. B H Cosmetics also have a Backlight palette that reminds me of the Anastasia Moon Child palette with the colored highlighters. I don't own that one, but I would like to try it. The spotlight palette has more every day wearable colors in my opinion. The Backlight has a prismatic effect.

The Spotlight palette it has a variety of shades that I can mix and match and it does work well with my fair skin. It blends wells on my skin, and doesn't look like it is sitting on the skin. The shades perform stunningly, and are not chunky or glittery. If you prefer a more natural highlight, you will need a light hand when applying these highlighters.  I love the intensity of this palette, and love that it is affordable.

I am currently an affiliate for B H Cosmetics. Should you choose to purchase through my links, this will be at no cost to you, but I will receive a small commission.

Vera Mona Color Switch

Color Switch
Vera Mona Color Switch

The Vera Mona Color Switch is something that all makeup users should have. It doesn't matter if you are a professional, or beginner. The Color Switch allows you to easily clean your brush by swirling it on the sponge-like material. You can easily and quickly remove all the color from your eyeshadow brush and use a lighter color and not worry about traces of color leftover. No water or liquids required and you can reuse the Color Switch by washing the sponge. This is essential to throw in your travel bag.

I've had mine for about a year, and I use it very often. I've washed it many times and the material has not broken down or lost any pieces. I also have an "ebay" version and it does work but I don't feel like it works as well. The material is less stiff, and doesn't feel as dense. Over time, I expect the cheaper version to break down quicker.

Beauty Creations Ruby Eyeshadow Palette

Ruby Eyeshadow Palette
Beauty Creations Ruby Palette

I purchased the Beauty Creations Ruby Palette because I loved the shade selection. I was curious to compare this 35 eyeshadow palette to my Morphe Brushes palette. Both are affordable palettes with similar packaging. I brought this one on vacation. The palette has a mix on matte and shimmer shades and it is very warmed toned which is my preference. Overall, I like this palette but I'm not in love with it. The matte shades blend well, and build well. The shimmer shades are nice, but not as metallic and shimmery as I would have liked.

If I compare this to my Morphe Brushes 35R and 35F, I prefer my Morphe palettes. Morphe does their shimmer shades very well. I feel like this is comparable to Morphe's earlier palettes. I do prefer the Beauty Creations square pans. I like the look that it gives the palette. As for the wearability, I did not have any issues. I always wear a primer and didn't notice any unusual fading. It lasted the day. I really like this palette when I'm looking for a more natural makeup look, since the shimmers are not so foiled.

If you're in Canada, I purchased this palette through Fashion Nova since the shipping was much cheaper. I do not agree with affordable makeup brands having astronimical shipping prices. It doesn't make sense to pay that much, when I can buy a high end product for that price. Fashion Nova also has alot of coupon discounts.

Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette (Fair) Review

Perfect Me, Perfect Hue
The Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye and Cheek palette consists of 5 eyeshadows and 2 blushes. Stila curated four palettes to market multiple skin tones. I purchased the palette in Fair. I was interested in the palette because it had both the eye and cheek products. I love all in one palettes that you can turn to for travel or a busy morning. I love the Charlotte Tilbury all in one palette, but they're so expensive. I opted for this one instead.

I don't own alot of Stila products, and they don't seem to be talked about as much in the beauty community, but the products that I have tried- I've really enjoyed. This palette is no different. This palette is very well throught out for fair skin. It has your base shade, your transition shade, and a dark shades to add dimension. Both of the blush shades are very wearable and can also be mixed together.

I'm not a big bronzer/contour fan so it doesn't bother me that this doesn't have one in the palette. If I did want to add bronzer, atleast I have the eyeshadows and blush together.

Here are the other options for this palette:

Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Palettes

Wishlist Makeup Items
Karity, Sephora, Pur Cosmetics, Lise Watier, Laura Mercier, Huda Beauty

If you're a beauty lover, you're constantly adding products to your wishlist. These are the items that I have recently added to my wishlist and wanted to share with you.

Karity 15 Nudes and Rudes Palette (Review)

I've had my eye on this palette since it launched. Karity released a couple of nude palettes, and this one caught my eye. I really like the warm shades in this palette. I haven't tried any Karity products, but I do plan to buy this palette. This palette is 25 US dollars, and the shipping to Canada doesn't seem to be expensive.

Sephora Make No Mistake Foundation and Concealer

I haven't tried any stick foundations, and thought this was had a good price point. I think I'll take a look for this one when I go to Sephora. It has good reviews on the Sephora site, and I would like to try it. It claims to be a medium to full coverage foundation with a matte foundation. I prefer a dewy foundation, but I can always add highlighter to the areas that I would like.

Pur Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Palette (Review)

Yes, another neutral palette added to my wishlist. I love my neutral shades and I'm addicted to eyeshadow palettes, and palettes in general. I've only tried one Pur Cosmetics eyeshadow palette in the past and did enjoy it.

Lise Watier Havana Glow Trio

I haven't tried any Lise Watier products, but this trio looks like something I would love. I love having my face products all together. I find it helps put my look together quickly. I prefer palettes, I feel like you get more product for your money. I love palettes.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Foundation

This is another medium to full coverage foundation with a matte finish. I prefer a Dewy foundation, but I don't like a tacky feel to my face. I tend to set my face when it feels tacky. I also like to mix foundation. I haven't tried a Laura Mercier foundation, but I do have some other products that I really enjoy.

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Minis

I would like to get this value set because it gives you a variety of shades to choose from. The nude set has the colors Venus, Bombshell, Flirt and Trendsetter. Value sets and travel sizes are my favorite. This set is sold at Sephora.

Marcelle Gentle Foaming Wash and 3-1 Eye Makeup Remover and Face Powder

Gentle Foaming Eash and 3-1 Eye Makeup Remover
Marcelle Oil Free Foaming Wash, 3-1 Gel Eye Makeup Remover

My nightly skincare routine includes both the Marcelle Oil Free Gentle Foaming Wash and the 3-1 Gel Eye Makeup Remover.  These are drugstore products that work well on my dry skin. The foaming cleanser is gentle on my skin and doesn't cause any irritation. I use a silicone vibrating machine similar to a Foreo and I like the foam to help cleanse the skin and not be too dry with the silicone bristles. The Gentle Foaming wash is paraben free, oil free, alcohol free, and perfume free.

I also really like the gel micellar waterproof makeup remover. I've repurchased this product multiple times. I like the gel consistency, and it removes my mascara very quickly. It can also remove lipstick and oil based foundations. It also doesn't burn my eyes which are very sensitive.

Canadian Brand Cosmetics
Marcelle face Powder

I also recommend the Marcelle translucent face powder. I use it every day and it doesn't add to my dry skin. It sets my foundation and under eyes very well. It has a pinkish tint to it, not a stark white powder which I really like. I haven't tried other Marcelle products but I would like to try some others since I've been happy with the products that I did try.

Smashbox Shapematters Palette Review

Smashbox
Smashbox Shapematters Palette

The Smashbox Shapematters palette is a Sephora exclusive. It contains 9 eyeshadows, 4 face powders, and 3 brow products. The brow powders are nice and I really like that the wax has it's own plastic cover to keep the powders out. The design is really well thought out. The face powders have a contour and bronzer shade, a matte powder to set under the eyes and a highlighter. On my fair skin, the powders do work well. The eyeshadows really surprised me. I didn't know if I would like the shades but both the matte and shimmer shades look great on the eyes. If you don't like kickup, be warned that this palette does have kickup. This doesn't seem to bother me, but I others do not like this. The kit also includes a dual ended brush that is functional.

If you're looking for an all in one palette, this one might be for you. I do wish it included a blush, that would make this palette even better in my eyes. All of the products in this palette blend well, and are easy to use. Smashbox includes instruction cards for those looking for ideas, or needing tutorials.

I haven't tried many Smashbox products, but those that I have tried I enjoyed. My newest purchase was the Smashbox Pearl Palette and it is one of my favorite highlighters.

This set contains:
- 9 x 0.049 oz/ 1.4 g Photo Op Eyeshadow in Vanilla (matte warm ivory), Totally Nude (matte pinky beige), Champagne (shimmery gold beige), Stripped (matte warm nude), Posh (shimmery gold rose), Platinum (shimmery goldish brown), Sumatra (matte deep brown), Aubergine (matte dark plum), Blackout (matte jet black)

Makeup Bag: 5 Products I Tested Out This Week (Benefit Cosmetics, Body Shop, Lancome, Manic Panic, BH Cosmetics)

These are 5 products that I made a point to test out this week, I pulled them into my makeup bag and used them. Each week, I will continue to test out new products and rotate through my collection.

Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow, Benefit Cosmetics and Manic Panic Dreamtone

I really liked the Hello Flawless foundation because it has SPF 25 and has a light to medium coverage, I stopped using it because I found it too dark. I picked up the Manic Panic Dreamtone and decided to give both a try together. The Dreamtone lightened the foundation and made it work. It didn't change the consistency. I also tested out the SPF on a warm day, and my body had a slight sunburn but my face did not. So, it seems like it didn't bother the SPF either. I'm very fair skinned and often the lightest shades are still too dark, I think the Dreamtone will be great to have in my collection.

B H Cosmetics Studio Pro Concealer

This concealer is high coverage and really amazing. I love using this product, and will definitely be repurchasing. This is the best affordable concealer that I have tried. I tend to rotate between this one and my Tarte Shape Tape. My one complaint is the packaging. When you first get this product, it squirt out as soon as you take the cap off. It's very easy to waste product and I'm not a fan. I really wish B H change the packaging. A Doe Foot applicator/tube would be ideal in my world.

Body Shop Radiant Highlighter

This is a cream highlighter that has a pink tone to it. I really do like this product but I don't tend to use cream highlighters often. I tried this as a base for my powder highlighter and it worked well. It also worked well on it's own, if you want a more natural highlight. I would also mix a little bit of this into my foundation for a dewy look.

Lancome Hypnose Drame Mascara

This is a mascara that I do enjoy, it add volume and length to my lashes. I do like to wear fake lashes, but while on vacation I tend to use just mascara. This one is a great "go to" mascara. The wand is quite big, and doesn't work well on my lower lashes. I would get mascara all over, but on my upper lashes, it was great.

Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette Review

Tarte Cosmetics Neutral Palette
Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette

The Tartelette in Bloom is one of my favorite neutral palette. It leans on the warm side and has 12 eyeshadows, 3 shimmer and 9 matte shades. It has everything I look for in a palette, matte brow bone shade, transition shades, and deeper shades for the outer V and liner. I love shimmer, and rarely go for an all matte look. The shimmers in this palette are very pretty. This is a palette that I pick up when I don't want to think too much about my look, but know it will turn out pretty. I would also recommend this palette for those who are new to eyeshadow and want a higher end palette to work with. The shadows don't have too much pickup and blend very well.

This palette also has 3 eye looks arranged in the three rows, to make it easy to pick up and do a quick look. I never have any issues with wear time, and the Amazonian Clay formula is one that I really enjoy.  It's a bit dryer but works very well. Oh, and the smell! It smells like vanilla. The mirror is also very good quality, and great to use if your on vacation.

Tarte has a new palette set to be released called the Tarte Tartelette Toasted palette, and I'm excited to see this one. I believe it is set to release in Fall 2017.

Foundation: L'Oreal Paris Pro Glow Infallible

Dewy Foundation
L'Oreal Pro Glow

Description:

The New Pro-Look of Longwear. It’s Pro With an All-Day Glow. Up to 24HR Foundation.

Discover the new pro finish of longwear: up to 24 hour wear with a hydrating glow. Lightweight and creamy, this long lasting foundation goes on smooth with a glow finish that lasts. With medium coverage, it instantly hides imperfections for a clear complexion. The hydrating foundation with SPF is ideal for normal to dry skin.

I've been using the Pro Glow lately, and I really do love the finish of this foundation. I do agree, that it is very lightweight and has a medium finish. I've been using the 201 shade, and it's on the pink side. It does work for me, but I tend to mix it with something a little more yellow to even out the shade. I probably picked up the wrong shade and would like to look at the colors a little more when I repurchase. Yes, I will repurchase this foundation. I have not tried the matte Infallible but I do like the Pro Glow. I love the packaging, it makes it so easy to throw in your bag and the travel with. It doesn't have a pump but that doesn't bother me. I do set this foundation with translucent powder, since it does have a tacky feel to it. Most dewy foundations do. I have no issues with it breaking down, I have pretty normal skin. I do tend to have a few dry patches if I don't moisturize but this works well for my skin. Overall, I would recommend this one.
Apply to cheeks, forehead, and chin blending outward. Finish with Infallible Pro-Spray and Set for a lasting glow look.

Too Faced Peach Palette Dupe Makeup Revolution Chocolate and Peaches

Too Face Dupe
Too Faced Peach Palette Dupe Makeup Revolution Chocolate and Peaches

The Makeup Revolution (www.tambeauty.com) I Heart Makeup "Chocolate and Peaches" palette was purchased when it was first released, I believe the Too Faced Peaches palette was out of stock and we didn't have word that it would come back in their permanent collection. This palette retails for $11.49 Canadian on their site. I have most of their chocolate palettes, and they are some of my favorite palettes, I knew I wanted this one in my collection as well. Looking at the palette is has some of the same shades as the Too Faced Palette. When I finally got my hands on the Too Faced Palette, I looked at the shades and they are similar but not altogether dupes. The Too Faced palette did have better pigmentation, especially on the shimmer shades but you can get the same looks with this palette. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, I recommend the Makeup Revolution palette. The one issue I had this the Too Faced palette was the synthetic peach smell, it was so strong I didn't want to open the palette. I'm very sensitive to smells, and for this reason, I prefer the Makeup Revolution version.

Too Faced Natural Love Palette

Neutral Palette
Too Faced Natural Love Palette

The Too Faced Natural Love palette was limited edition, and I was so excited when I got it. I don't own many Too Faced Products, and thought this one would be right up my alley. If you like neutrals, you will love the look of this palette. It has 7 matte shades, 13 shimmer, and 10 sparkle shades according to Too Face's description. It doesn't have many transition shades, but I was able to work with what was in the palette. It wasn't a big concern for me, since this was a "natural" neutral palette. The shimmer shades were my favorite. The problem I had with this palette was the lasting power. I always use a primer, and within a few hours this eyeshadow would be gone from my lids. I have never experienced this before, and for 69$ Canadian, I expected it to stay on my lids for most of the day. I was really surprised by the lasting power. I would like to try Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palette, I won't if I would have the same issues.

Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liquid Liner/ Pur Cosmetics Miracle Mist Review

I purchased the Physicians Formula after seeing alot of reviews raving about the product and comparing it to the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I picked it up, swatched it on my hand and was so impressed with the pigmentation. I thought the brush tip would work well, since I do like the Kat Von D liner. If I could fine a cheaper alternative, that would be great. Well, when I went to line my lash line, I was surprised that the liner hardly showed up. I've tried it a couple of times now, and you really need to build it up if you're putting it over eyeshadow. I haven't tried it on my bare lid but I think it would work better. Sadly, this product didn't work out for me. It takes alot of effort to get it to show up, and I would rather using another liner.

Physicians Formula
The Pur Cosmetics Miracle Mist was a repurchase for me. This mist claims to be a "hydrating face spray that instantly moisturizes dry, tired, and stressed skin with more than 70 essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids." It a hydrate and set spray.  I don't have oily skin, so I don't know if it prolongs the wear of my makeup but it does feel very refreshing and I do like the citrus smell. I purchased a 8 oz bottle, but I do see that on the Pur website, they have a 4 oz bottle for the same price. I think they may have downsized the bottle. I can also vouch for the nozzle and tell you that it sprays very nicely and I haven't had any issues with it spitting out.

Coastal Scents Revealed Matte Palette

Matte Palette
Coastal Scents Revealed Matte Palette

Coastal Scents*

The Coastal Scents Revealed Matte Eyeshadow palette launched recently, and I purchased it as soon as it released. I love all matte palettes. They're great to use on their own or when you have single shimmer shadows but need those mattes. As soon as I saw this palette, I thought of the new Urban Decay Ultimate basics palette. It looks very similar. I don't have the Urban Decay one, but I'll add a stock photo for you.

I really like the Coastal Scents Matte palette, I have no issues with the pigmentation or blending the shadows. I do think some shadows are very similar in color, but it doesn't bother me. I purchased this for $9.95 and shipping to Canada was inexpensive. Normally this palette retails for $19.95 on Coastal Scents but keep an eye out for a coupon.

Coastal Scents as a brand has some of my favorite single eye shadows and products. I love their price point and I like that I can use their products and not worry about over doing it. Sometimes when I'm in a rush, I will stay away from highly pigmented palettes because I'm afraid to over do it, and get stuck with blending and blending. If you were looking for an all matte palette, I would give this one a try. It has a great mix of warm and cool tones. It has the brow bone shade that I'm always looking for and the dark shadows for the outer V.

Naked Heat by Urban Decay (Every day palette?)

Naked Heat Palette
Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

When I first saw posts showing the Naked Heat I went back and forth between wanting it and thinking that it wouldn't be a good "every day" or "work appropriate" palette. I starting looking at reviews online and saw some very wearable looks and decided I would have no problem using this palette on an everyday basis. I love the red, burnt orange tones of this palette. Yes, it's a very warm palette and you will get similar looks when using these shadows. It's very monochromatic but I like that I know what sort of look I'm going to get when I pick up this palette.

I was afraid that this would be too pigmented and hard to use. I'm not a makeup artist or beauty guru, I'm just a woman who likes to go her makeup in the morning and this palette is perfect for me. The shimmers are not really foiled, but pretty on their own. If I want to amp it up, I can spray it with a setting spray, and it becomes a lot more shimmery.

If you're like me and thought twice about this palette, it's worth it- if you enjoy warm tones. I believe this palette will be in Sephora stores on July 10th. It is currently sold out on Sephora Canada Online but available on Urban Decay Canada. I also want to add that Urban Decay Canada shipped out my palette, and I received it the next day. Thank you Urban Decay! Also, you can get a 10% off coupon, if you sign up for their newsletter. That's what I did...

5 Products I'm Testing Out This Week (Becca, Morphe, Maybelline, Estee Lauder, Nyx)

Each week, I'll put to the test 5 products that are new to me or products I haven't tried for awhile. I will show them  each week and follow up with short reviews. These are 5 products that I will put into my rotation and make sure that I use them. This way, I can ensure that I do use these products and I'm not just using the same products over and over again. This idea was inspired by Youtuber Bailey Layne's Makeup Monday Posts.

The Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette

This palette is new to me and so beautiful! I love the warm tones and the variety of this palette. It has every thing you need, except a matte brow bone color. My initial impressions are: the matte are very pigmented and blendable. The shimmers are great, but I don't find them as foiled or chunky as other Morphe shadows.

Estee Laurder Bronze Goddess ( Light/Medium)

I'm not a big contour, bronzer person. I do like a little bit of color in my face but I already have a pretty structured face with high cheekbones. So far the color for this one seems to work well for me.

Becca Afterglow Palette

I had this palette in my drawer for awhile and wanted to bring it back out. I do enjoy the blushes and the highlighter. Some of the highlighters are too dark for me, I might try use them as eye shadows.

NYX Dark Circle Concealer Corrector (Medium)

I previously had this in light and it didn't seem to work for my dark circle. I'm fair skinned and I have very dark circle. (Blaming that on my 3 year old) I think the medium will work better for me, since it has a darker orange color.

Maybelline Brow Precise (Dark Brown)

I was previously using the Revlon Brown pencil and it was too creamy and sort of smeared around when I tried blend it. I picked this one up and it seems to have a better texture and the pencil is very small and easy to use.

June Beauty Favorites

My first favorite of the month would have to be my ELF Mad for Matte 2 palette. I had purchased this palette and forgot about it for a little bit, but once I started using it, I didn't want to put this one away. It stays on my everyday palette organizer. I love the tones of this palette, and it's very easy to blend. I purchased mine through ELF, I haven't seen it in my Walmart.

ELF

The Bebella 35C palette is one of my favorite palettes, I find myself using this one very often. I love the neutral, the pinks and the warm shades. This palette is apparently a dupe of the original Jaclyn Hill Morphe palette, and I really love this palette. It has one extra row, the Jaclyn Hill palette is only 25 shades, and this one is 35.

The Makeup Revolution highlighter palette is one that I pulled back out of my drawer and realized I really do love this palette. I'm fair skinned, and alot of these shades suite me. I can also mix the white shade with the darker shades to lighten them up. I love a good white highlight.

Makeup Revolution

June was also the month that I really started wearing lashes multiple times a week, and I found the Red Cherry 46 lashes were so beautiful on the eyes. I ordered a few more pairs. This is a great every day/ work appropriate lash. I also discovered the Kiss #11 lashes, and these are also on my frequent rotation for work.
