Weekly Get To Know Me (Oct 28)

Barachois, Quebec

For this weeks Weekly Get To Know Me, I decided to just write a post instead of doing a Q&A. The last two weeks we were on vacation and came home Sunday. We actually left our hometown on Saturday drove 5 hours, slept overnight at a motel and finished the drive the next day which was another 5-6 hours. The drive itself was good, and we arrived back home to really warm weather. It was back to work on Monday, and I've been struggling all week. I feel like I'm on the verge of being sick, and I'm just overtired and need to rest. I'm hoping to rest up this weekend and have a better week next week.

My vacation was really nice but I didn't get to do as much blogging or reading as I had intended. I was a little disappointed but I enjoyed time away. I decided to just spend the time with my son and husband. When Caleb napped, I napped too. Did I mention he still wakes up every single night and he's about to be 4 in December? Yes, he's always been a restless sleep.

I did start reading a book this week, commuting to work is when I usually read. I'm reading Fallen Heir the 4th book in the Royal's Series by Erin Watt. I really enjoyed the previous 3 books and this was has been holding my attention. When it comes to reading, I really need easy, entertaining reads that keep my attention. If it doesn't keep my attention, I struggle to pick it up.

I'm excited for Halloween this week. I was never a Halloween person, but celebrating with Caleb really makes the holidays so much more fun. His enthusiasm and excitement is so catching. He's going as a Power Ranger and I'm hoping for warm weather. Living in Canada, it was 20 degrees Celsius on Monday, and 6 feels like 2 on Friday. I'm wishing you all a great weekend, and will look forward to your upcoming posts this week.

  1. Oh that sounds like such cold weather - hope that the forecast improves and you get some nice weather for trick or treating! :) We don't do Halloween here in Australia really but it's fun to see the costumes people wear that they share online! :)

It's great you had a good holiday, hopefully you're feeling better today too and you're having a lovely weekend.

  3. I think that sometimes it’s just so good to no do anything - no blogging, no reading, no anything! I’m a restless sleeper just like your son, and I rarely ever sleep through the night which sucks, and I’m 20..

I hope you and your family have a fabulous Halloween!

  6. Loved this post. I feel for you hun...my eldest has been bad with sleep since she was born and still fights me every single night not to go to sleep. She just turned 6 :( I've got it under control but some nights I just wish she would just go up to bed without needing me to sit with her lol! xxx

  10. It's great that you were able to spend some time with your family while you're away. We've just had half-term over here and I've absolutely loved having my daughter around for the week. I miss her now she's back at school but we're going Hallowe'en trick or treating tonight - love the sound of Caleb's costume, Flora's going as a skeleton, haha!
