Life Update: Losing My Mom

If you've been wondering where I've been and you don't follow me on social media, I lost my Mom in March. She was admitted to the hospital in February, and passed away in March. As soon as she was admitted into the hospital, and I knew she would be going for surgery, I went into "emergency" mode and my blogs were the first to go. You can read my initial post about losing my Mom on my book blog here. It's been 4 weeks since I lost my Mom and every single day is a mental struggle. I feel like I just pretend I'm "okay" to get me through each day. I want to come back to my blogs, but I need to be ready for it. I'm starting to think about it though, which is why I'm posting today.

This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to go through in my life and I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. I'm hoping to come back soon. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see I have picked up some new palettes. Yes, it was total retail therapy. In those first few days; I felt miserable, I looked miserable and I slowly forced myself to apply a small amount of makeup to help me do something for myself. It provides a distraction. Makeup has never been about my physical appearance, it has always been about my emotional/mental wellness. I'm still very grateful to have an interest in beauty and understand how much it helps me.

I will probably keep all my grief posts and more personal posts on my book blog. Feel free to follow me at Mrs Q Book Addict. It's too hard to post to both blogs, when it comes to personal stuff. I'll keep it over there, to simplify it. I'm going to start planning posts and try to piece together my life.
