Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Bling Boss Review and Swatches

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Bling Boss Review and Swatches

The Morphe Bling Boss was the third palette that I tried from the Vault Collection. The Ring the Alarm palette and the Armed and Gorgeous palettes were both hits for me. Going into this palette, I knew that I don't generally wear these colors. Purple is a shadow that I don't really like to work with, I find it harder to blend and I don't really like it on my eyes. I did want to try this palette and see how I liked it though. Spoiler, I liked it but didn't love it.

I did like this palette, but I didn't love it as much as the other two. This palette has a nice transition shade with hush hush but no mid tone shades. If I'm going to wear a smokey eye, I want to build it slowly and this palette doesn't give my that option. I have to go from transition to a dark color right away, which is hard to do. I found this palette a little harder to work with and blend. The shimmers were beautiful on the eyes, the mattes took more effort and needed extra blending. This is not a palette I can grab when I'm in a hurry to get out the door. I will say the shade that blew me away when I swatched it was Berry Treasure. That shade is PIGMENTED!

I don't think this palette is lesser quality, I think these colors need more patience when you work with them. Patting on the colors and then blending the edges seems to work better rather then blending right away. I think I will use this palette in conjunction with another companion palette. This will allow me to have those colors that I feel I need, to help work with the darker shades. I'm glad I have this palette because it does take me out of my comfort zone and I love experimenting with eyeshadow but I don't see myself using this palette as much as the others. The shimmers are gorgeous though.

  2. That purple shade is screaming my name! I know lots of people don't like purple shadows but I love them - it's a tricky shade to get right though xx
