Weekly Product Rotation: What I've Been Using This Week and More (Beauty Creations, Morphe, Becca, L'Oreal, Clinique, Estee Edit)

Makeup Chat: What I've Been Using This Week and More (Beauty Creations, Morphe, Becca, L'Oreal, Clinique, Estee Edit)

As a Canadian, we celebrated Thanksgiving in October but I want to wish my US readers a great holiday. I'm starting to get really excited for Christmas and can't wait to decorate. My son turns 5 on Dec 3rd so his party preparations are underway as well. I really hope 5 is the year he starts to sleep better, and not wake up at 4 am. Yes, 4 and he's up for the morning. He still wakes up every single night, and comes to our room. He started Jiu Jitsu in September and he's doing great. I'm so proud of him because he was so reluctant to participate in team sports this summer. He absolutely thinks he's training to be a ninja. I'm going to be starting a new series where I talk about what makeup I've been using and also chatting about life and other makeup related topics. I'm not sure if I will be able to do it every week, but I'm going to try.

This week, I've been so drawn to cranberry shades. I see this continuing in the next few weeks. The Beauty Creations Tease Me palette was what I used for the majority of the week. I will have a review and swatches coming soon. It's a good palette but I do have some things I want to discuss about it.  I also pulled in the Morphe 15S Social Butterfly palette. I wanted to create a berry, purple look and this palette had the shades I wanted. I will continue to use this palette next week. I've been wanting to include more pictures of the eye looks I created, but I will tell you that I don't have good lighting and it's hard to take good pictures. I'll keep trying though.

I've also been loving glowy blushes lately, I normally go for a matte blush. My Jaclyn Hill Becca palette has been getting some use this week. The first shade, Rose Spritz has been my "go to." I'm going to look for more glowy blushes in my collection. I've also been using Champagne Pop quite a bit. Bronzer, I'm using an Estee Edit bronzer that's not too dark and great for winter. I can't remember the name but it's no longer available. Last week I was mixing the Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation and concealer; this week I used it on it's own. It was pretty full coverage and nice but I do prefer to mix it and not be so full coverage. Since the foundation was so full coverage, I used a lighter concealer and it was the Revolution Beauty Fast Base Concealer. I mostly wanted it for lightening my under eyes. The last products I wanted to mention were the L'Oreal Voluminous primer and mascara. I really liked pairing the two together. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I also found it easier to remove my mascara when I used the primer.

Can Bad Habit beauty please ship to Canada for an affordable price? I would love to try their palettes but they won't ship here. Their new Pretty Poison palette is stunning! I want it. Colourpop had a sale this week that included free shipping for International buyers. I caved and picked up two palettes; the Good Sport palette and the Sol palette. The shipping is my one grip with Colourpop. I wish it was a little cheaper for ground shipping. BH Cosmetics has a similar shipping cost but they ship Fedex and I get it within a few days.

As for black friday sales, I really need to reign it in. It's so hard to stop buying products for yourself when you see all these sales but Christmas is coming. I keep a list monthly of what products I purchased, and when you see it add up- it's hard to ignore. It's so easy for me to spend on beauty but I do have a budget.

I hope you had a great week and enjoy the weekend coming up. It's been cold here in Montreal -20 C and I'm not a fan. It's suppose to warm up next week, so fingers crossed.

  1. I heard somebody mention that Colour Pop have free international shipping this weekend so it might be worth checking out!

4am starts - ouch! My nephew has always been an early riser too - he really tries to get back to sleep but just can't (although he wakes an hour later than your son!) xx

  8. Kids are so full of energy, glad your son is doing great with his ninja training haha! I try to limit my purchases by shopping only when I travel. I make my list and decide on my preferences. I do some impulse purchase but that is very rare. Have a nice day Jennifer. :-)
