Weekly Makeup: (Tarte, Colorpop, Stila, Makeup Geek, Milani, Dior, Maybelline, Essence)

I'm looking at this picture and really laughing at the variety of prices in my makeup. I really enjoy using affordable and higher end makeup, if it works well that's all the matters to me. This week really flew by and I'm happy that the weekend is here. I really need to get more Christmas shopping done, and start baking as well. I have some time off work during the holidays but I do need to go to work in between the holidays. I'm looking forward to just being home and relaxing. I'm hoping to get more blogging in once it has calmed down. So, let's get into the makeup...

This week for my face I used my Tarte Blush palette from last years collection. I love this blush palette, Tarte blushes are so good. They will last all day and blend so easily. I highly recommend the holiday palettes because they can be pricey if you're just picking up one at a time. I also used my Makeup Geek X Kathleenlights highlighter palette. I really like this trio, and the highlighters are very pretty. The darker shade is too dark for me but can be used as a eyeshadow. This palette is still available at Makeup Geek if you're interested. They look much darker in the pan but on my fair skin, it works.

On my eyes, I used the Colourpop Sol palette. This palette looked much more red to me in pictures, and it's more orange than I expected. I do still like the palette, but I was a bit shocked when I opened it. Now, I want the Lit palette for the reds. Colourpop palettes are fantastic and they recently had free shipping worldwide which I loved! Remember, when I wrote about loving Colourpop but the shipping was too expensive for ground shipping? They offered free shipping and they also shipped my packages via UPS which was much faster. I think they read my post.... You think? lol If Colourpop continues to ship to Canada via UPS, I'll be so happy. I also tried this Stila Vivid and Vibrant Duo and the glitter side is stunning!! This was provided to me as a PR sample. It's absolutely stunning, I loved my eye look for the entire day. One side has a metallic shadow and the other has a glitter finish. I layered them and I did use a glitter glue to avoid fall out as much as possible.

I've been using my Dior Nude Skin Glow Foundation this week. I use this foundation pretty regularly, it's not dewy but it has a nice natural finish. I've mentioned it a few times on my blog. For powder it has been the Milani Prep Set and Glow pressed powder. I'm trying to figure out if I like a pressed powder or loose powder better. Apparently pressed gives you less coverage which I'm fine with. For lips, I don't wear a lot of lip products but when I did wear a lipstick this week, it's been the Maybelline Almond Rose which is a perfect nude on me. Lastly, mascara was the Essence Super Curl mascara which I really like. I love alot of Essence Mascara's and this one is really good. I tried the Volume Hero version and the Super Curl worked much better for me.

  3. The Tarte blush palette looks gorgeous! I like a variety of high and and drugstore too: I lean more towards high end, but my favorite budget ones are NYX, ColourPop and Jordana.
