January Haul (Morphe, Sephora, NYX, Curling Wand 5-1)

January Haul (Morphe, Sephora, NYX, Amazon Curling Wand 5-1)

I slowed down my purchases in January, and these were all purchased at the end of the month. This month has been a bit strange, after the holidays I've felt pretty drained. My husband had a never ending cold, and that took a toll on us. My mother in law has also been feeling unwell, and we like to check up on her daily. Our weather has been all over the place and I haven't been motivated. I really need to see the sun, and it hasn't been around much. I really hope to work through this for February. I don't like feeling unproductive and unmotivated.

The first thing I purchased was a 5-1 Curling Wand, you can pick this up at Amazon  I've always struggled with curling my hair and decided to try a wand. This 5-1 curler seemed like something that would be fun to try and great to travel with. It also came with a heat protective glove, that I should probably use because I burnt my hand... My first impressions were positive though, I had no issues curling my hair. I will have a full review once I've had a chance to try it out a bit more.

I've been wanting to scale back on the makeup purchases but I also really enjoying testing new products. I picked up a few things this month, that I was excited to test out. The first is the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette (here*) in Phoenix. This palette caught my eye, and I really want to try more from NYX. I really like the range of colors in this palette, and was curious about the formula. I also went to Sephora and was happy to see the Morphe Continuous Setting Spray (here*) was back in stock. I've heard so many positive things about this spray that I really wanted to try it. Let me tell you, the mist is amazing! I also picked up a new brush cleaner, the Sephora Natural Citrus Brush Cleaner (here*.) I picked up the smaller bottle to see how it cleaned my brushes and so far, it's been great. This spot cleaning my brushes daily routine has really stuck with me, and I needed a new cleaner and decided to try this one.

What did you pick up in January that you've been excited to review or test out?

  3. I am doing a low buy this year so I am trying to get a hold of my spending especially on makeup. I haven't done a makeup order in over a month and I'm still going. I'm doing a type of system where I can only buy 5 makeup items a month. But that morphe setting spray is on the top of my makeup wish list.

  4. I adore the Morphe Mist! I haven't bought too much this month - just some foundations, which I am really enjoying and will be on the blog soon.

Hope February is a better month for you! xx

  5. I have tried these kind of curling wand long time back but was never able to master the skill. Besides my arms used to start aching hahaha. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with all my makeup. I did not purchase much makeup lately. But that NYX palette is lovely. :-) Take care.
