E.L.F 16HR Camo Concealer (Shape Tape Dupe?)

E.L.F 16HR Camo Concealer (Shape Tape Dupe?)

The E.L.F 16HR Camo Concealer has been another concealer that has a doe foot applicator and many influencers are comparing to Shape Tape. This concealer comes in 16 shades, is full coverage and costs about 5$. I'm not sure if this can be found in Walmart Canada stories but I waited and purchased mine from the ELF website when they were offering free shipping. It helped to keep this an affordable concealer when shipping internationally. I was really excited about this concealer because I like full coverage concealers, and I love a doe foot applicator when applying concealer.

Let's look at the claims, it claims to be "full coverage, 16-hour wear concealer featuring a large doe foot applicator to conceal, correct, contour and highlight for flawless skin. The highly pigmented formula is lightweight, dries matte and won't settle into fine lines or creases. Ideal for all skin types." This is full coverage, I'll give it that but it's not the easiest concealer to work with. It's very thick and you need to work fast to blend it out. It sets pretty quickly and a little goes a long way; when I see influencers layering up this concealer I have no idea how they blend it out. I use a small amount with a sponge and it's still a bit tricky to blend out. It spreads very quickly and having too much product will make this even harder to blend. It is lightweight, it lasts the duration of my day. I don't know who needs concealer for 16 hours straight, but I don't. When ordering this concealer, I would double check shades because I've heard that it's hard to find your match. I didn't have this problem but I purchased a highlighting shade.

Do I think this is a dupe for Shape Tape? No, not exactly, it's a bit more drying and harder to work with. Shape Tape was easier to blend out. I think it's a great full coverage concealer but I can see why some people will struggle with this. If you tried the Conceal and Define by Revolution Beauty and wanted something more full coverage, this is more full coverage. Would I repurchase? I don't think so because I've been loving the L'Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Concealer much more and I can easily pick it up at the drugstore.

Did you try this concealer? What did you think? I think it's a nice concealer and I will use it. I don't think it's too difficult to use, that I'll stop but I do see that I need to be careful when applying this. It's not that beginner friendly.

  1. I don't think I'd like this because I'm not a fan of concealers that are thick in texture! xx

  4. Very candid review Jennifer - thank you! I, personally, have dry skin and found Shape Tape to be drying so I'd probably be into this even less - although Elf are good for the price, I think they missed the mark with this one! x

  5. Too bad it's not a dupe for Shape Tape! I haven't found anything that I've loved as much as Shape Tape yet.

  6. Ahh man so it's even dryer than Shape Tape! I feel like Shape Tape is the only concealer that helps with my dark circles.

  12. This concealer sounds good but I don't think I will like it either just because of the thick consistency. I like the Maybelline concealers and don't explore much. But will keep the L'Oreal one in mind. :-)
