Ojibwe Cosmetics Cotton Candy Palette (Review and Swatches)

Ojibwe Cosmetics Cotton Candy Palette (Review and Swatches)

This palette stole my heart when I saw it on Instagram, and I couldn't wait to give this a try. One of my goals this year is to be mindful of the brands I'm adding to my collection, and who I'm choosing to support. I do receive some PR but I mostly purchase the products on my own. As an indigenous woman who is asking the beauty community for inclusivity when it comes to us, I want to do my part by supporting the Indigenous women and men in the community as well as the brands. Ojibwe Cosmetics caught my eye on Instagram, and I checked out the store to see what was available. They have eyeshadows, lipsticks, highlighters, brow pomade, pressed powders and foundation. Of course, the palette was what I chose to try out first.

The Cotton Candy palette has 16 shadows in both matte and metallic shades. I've been testing this out for a week now, and I really do like the palette. The shadows are soft, and you will get kick up in the pan but they blend and build very nicely. Soft shadows don't always last on my partially hooded lids and these had great lasting power. The metallics are so pretty! This palette is perfect for spring and summer, and you can get some neutral looks out of it too. It's a very well rounded palette. It does have a mirror, and mine came cracked but I don't use mirrors in a palette.

The owner also mentioned to me that a percentage of sales does go towards sponsoring youth to take a "stop bullying boosting self-esteem workshop." This is great, I love seeing brands give back. I'm really happy that I found this brand, and would like to try the eye quads next. Do I have a weakness of eyeshadow? Absolutely. Please, no judgement.

If you would like to check out the brand, you can go to their Instagram here and website. If you have checked out the brand and wonder what the experience was; the owner did communicate quickly with me and I received the palette within a few days. It was well packaged, my mirror was cracked but the shadows were perfect.
