Tarte Cosmetics High Tides & Good Vibes Palette (Review and Swatches)

Tarte high Tides & Good Vibes Palette (Review and Swatches)

Tarte Cosmetics released the High Tide & Good Vibes palette and I wasn't initially interested. The stock photos did not interest me. However, when I saw an actual photo on Instagram I was shocked by how pretty it looked. Seriously, brands need to look at their stock photos and realize how important they are to consumers. This palette has mattes, metallics and pressed glitters which makes it a really fun palette to play with. I was drawn to the colour story when looking at the palette. It gives me the trendy blue eyeshadow but also gives me corals and neutrals and keeps it very wearable for every day.

The first few times I tried this palette I was really happy with the mattes and how easily they blended, and how little kick up was in the pan. The metallics were also very pretty. The star of this palette are the pressed glitters and they were much easier to use than I thought. For application, I suggest picking up the pressed glitters with your finger. It doesn't pick up well on a brush but if you just want a bit of glitter- try a brush. Do your eye makeup first, before foundation because you will have fall out. Once I was done with the eyes, I didn't experience a lot of fall out throughout the day which I thought I would have. I do recommend a glitter glue if you have hooded lids because the glitter did transfer in the crease and it was much less when using a glitter glue.

I really do love this palette and it's very different from other palettes in my collection. I don't wear a lot of glitter but I like the options that I have in this palette. The packaging is stunning!! It has liquid embedded into the cover and it does swish around. It feels very luxurious and pretty. I've been enjoying these new textures that we're seeing in eyeshadows. We have more than just matte and shimmers and I'm interested to see where palettes will go. I recommend this palette for every day, and when you want to amp up a look. It doesn't have a dark brown or black that you might want for dimension but I have no issues pulling in a neutral palette for these shades. I prefer having more variety in a palette. I use to think a palette had to have all the essentials (matte brow bone, dark matte, and inner corner highlight) but I no longer feel that every palette has to have these shades.

Did you pick this palette up? What did you think?
