Urban Decay Naked Reloaded (Review and Swatches)

Urban Decay Naked Reloaded (Review and Swatches)

Urban Decay retired the iconic Naked palette and we all knew they would release an updated version. It was just a matter of time. When the Naked Reloaded was announced I was really happy with the shade selection and knew I would end up purchasing the palette. I didn't think this palette was groundbreaking but I did think it would be a great palette to grab for every day. These are the shades that I would use and love. It would allow me to have a variety and have what I need in a palette.

This palette has 12 new shades and pulls much warmer than the original palette which I was happy about. I loved my Naked palette but I started to grab for it less and less due to it being so neutral and my preference for warmer shades. Also, the Naked palette lacked matte shades and was mostly has shimmer shades. Urban Decay stated that the Naked Reloaded palette has "universally flattering shades designed for everyone-for any age, gender and skin tone." I love the idea behind this. You will also notice the outer four pans are bigger and these are the shades you'll tend to use more and looking at the shades, I do agree I would use those more.

The mattes blend very easily, they build well and you can go a bit more neutral if you want. The peachy Retro shade is gorgeous. The shimmers are also beautiful. The shade Dreamweaver (warm taupe) is a very crumbly shade and I recommend that you spray it with a setting spray before applying it to your eyes. In terms of formula, I felt like it was on par with the Naked Heat and Naked Cherry palettes.

The packaging is interesting because it's so light, and the cover has a squishy feeling underneath the fabric. It doesn't feel as sturdy as the Naked Heat hard plastic packaging though and I would worry about travelling with it.  It does have a mirror and the cover folds all the way to back, making it easy to hold while applying your eyeshadow.

  5. I never purchased the Naked palette, but felt bad when it was discontinued. The swatches are great but I have the cherry palette on my shopping list for this time. Maybe will get this one next time. :-) Glad you are enjoying it.
