Review and Swatches: Morphe X Madison Beer Palette

Morphe X Madison Beer Palette (Review and Swatches)

I picked up the Morphe X Madison Beer palette through Sephora Canada and was excited to try a new Morphe palette because it had been months since I purchased any new makeup. For much of the summer, I didn't bother wearing eyeshadow. The product description claims to be "a palette that contains soft neutrals and rose-gold hues, Madison's musts for any occasion." I will admit I had no clue who Madison was, but I liked the look of this palette and picked it up for 28$. Madison is actually a singer-songwriter and this collection also contains and brush set, lip gloss and other products. I am only reviewing the eyeshadow palette, I did not pick up anything else in the collection.

This palette has 20 shades, and it has a nice range of shades to complete a full look. You can easily take this palette and be able to create a variety of looks. I love the neutral, pink and mauve tones in this palette. The mattes are pigmented and build nicely, true to Morphe's formula if you've tried their shadows before. Morphe is not my favourite formula, but they do a great job of lasting all day and the shimmer shades are beautiful. I am a shimmer person, and I need nice shimmer shades to complete a look. The browns in the palette do full more yellow on me, and I wish they were more neutral. For that reason, I don't gravitate towards this palette as much as other palettes in my collection. If you like this colour story, and you like Morphe- I would say go for it.

Morphe X Madison Beer Palette (Review and Swatches)

I wish Morphe would do more collaborating with less problematic influencers. They collaborate with a lot of people that I don't support and would like to not have associated with Morphe. It's for this reason that I've stepped back from Morphe. I love that Morphe makes it easy to buy their products in Canada, they have a Canadian online store and their products are sold through Sephora Canada but they need to do better with who they support. They make it hard for me to want to support them. I'm hoping 2021 is different for them because I do like their products.

Morphe Eyelid Primer

I've also been testing out their Eyelid primer, it's a transparent primer that is long-wearing and waterproof. It doesn't dry out my lids, doesn't add texture to my lid area and helps to grip my shadow all day long. If I don't set it with powder, it will dry down and be smooth. It's still very easy to blend shadows on top of it. I would definitely repurchase and recommend it.
