Colourpop collaborated once again with Youtuber Kathleenlights and released the Dream St palette along with some lip products. I've previously purchased Kathleenlights collabs with brands and loved them. I was excited to pick up the palette and happy to support Kathleen. The Dream St palette is a warmed toned palette with nice pops of color that retails for 16$. Like other Colourpop palettes, this has 16 shades. It has mattes, shimmers and satins. This palette was so hyped up that I couldn't wait to give it a try. The mattes are wonderful and blend really well. The shimmers do take a bit of work which I feel like no one really talks about. I really have to build them up, spray them or apply with my finger otherwise they don't show up that much. If you watch Youtubers applying the shimmers, they always spray them.
Shooting Star: matte soft golden brown
Magical: matte yellow peach
Star Dust: metallic true copper
Twinkle: metallic true rose gold
Sweet Dreams: metallic soft champagne with a peachy pink flip
Water Bearer: matte cool teal
Potion: matte vivid reddish rust
Spark: matte neon red
Kaleidoscope: metallic intense silvery nude
Elfish: matte rich red brown
Moony: satin soft baby pink
Mermaid Boy: metallic deep teal
I really like that this palette can give you a neutral look or you can amp it up with the other shades. Water Bearer and Spark are really fun shades to try. Stardust and Twinkle do look similar in the pan but they do look different on the eye. The shadows are on the soft side, and you will get kick up. I've noticed this will all my Colourpop palettes. It doesn't really bother me, but I know some others don't like it. They shades last all day on my eyes, and don't have any issues with fading. Again, I do prefer the mattes over the shimmers in this palette. If you're familiar with Colourpop's other pressed eyeshadow palettes, I will say the shimmers perform different. I'm not a fan of using my fingers to apply lid shades, I prefer using a brush and that did leave me a bit disappointed. Overall, I do like the palette. I like the color selection and will continue to use it but I don't think it is my favorite Colourpop palette.
The colors are really pretty! I haven't tried Colourpop's pressed eyeshadow formula yet but the mattes do look lovely.

The shade selection is beautiful but it's a shame that the shimmers don't perform as well as you want! xx

I just placed an order that included this palette the other day, I can't wait to get my hands on it! I always enjoy Kathleenlights' collaborations!
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning looking palette, but I think I would prefer Makeup Geek more. I love the shimmers.

I still haven't used a ColourPop product that disappointed me. And these eyeshadows sounds amazing and looks so highly-pigmented :)

I love the shades in the palette, I think Kathleen did a fantastic job on the selection. I'm surprised to hear about the shimmers, especially being that it's her with colourpop. P.s. I can see that your eyeshadow collection is really growing!

The colors are really pretty! That's ashame about the shimmers. Usually they don't take much effort.
