Morphe 15H Happy Hour Palette (Review and Swatches)

Morphe 15H Happy Hour Palette (Review and Swatches)

It's no surprise that I love Morphe palettes, and the 15H Happy Hour palette did not disappoint me. I ordered it immediately when I saw that it had launched. This palette is very red/peachy/berry in tone and it's absolutely beautiful. It's still a warm palette and right up my alley. I wore Spritzer on the lid yesterday, and it was gorgeous. This is a great summer palette, and different from the other palettes I've seen. It reminds me of the Viseart Petit Palette Pro 2.

Morphe is my favorite brand, not just affordable brand but brand in general. Yes, I said it. I've never bought a palette that has disappointed me. I love their shimmers- they never let me down. I also love the large selection of mattes in their palettes. It allows me to build my color slowly, and use different shades to give me the look the I want. The eyeshadows always last all day, and don't crease or fade.

Revolution Pro Goldmine Palette (Review)

When I wake up in the morning and I'm looking for a paletteg that will go with anything, I grab this one by Revolution Beauty. This palette is from their Revolution Pro range, which I believe is similar to their previous Freedom Pro range. It was released along with 7 other palettes. I picked up this Goldmine palette and the Revelation Palette. The Revelation Palette looks like a dupe for the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette. I will have an upcoming post on it. Stay tuned! What I really like about this palette is that it has every thing that I need for an eye look. It has my fair shade to set my primer, my transition shades and it has darker shades. I prefer a dark brown over a black to deepen up a look, and this palette has both which was another positive for me. I can keep my eye looks very neutral and/or a little warmer.

It is housed in a plastic case with a clear lid. I do like the clear lid, it makes it easier to see which palette I'm looking for. The shadows perform very well, a little powdery but not bad. Tap off your brush, and you will be good. The pigmentation is great. It is not too pigmented and will allow you to build the color. The shimmers are very nice. I have no issues with lasting power and was very surprised by how much I enjoy this palette.

Overall, Revolution Beauty (Makeup Revolution) is a brand that I really enjoy. They release a ton of new products every year and there is always something for every one. Pricing for a Canadian is not bad, and shipping is affordable. It takes a few weeks for receive and I'm usually very impressed with their products. I didn't get a chance to swatch these but I will try to add in a picture.

Curating My Makeup Collection (Declutter, Simplified Storage)

Curating My Makeup Collection (Declutter, Simplified Storage)

I've been struggling with my makeup collection lately. It had become overwhelming and too much. I stopped my Boxycharm because I noticed I wasn't using the products. They were put away and forgotten. I don't have alot of space for makeup and decided I needed to organize. I decluttered around 10 palettes and gave them away to family. I had this letter stand on my dresser with another 4 drawer unit and I decided to only have this letter stand with one drawer on my dresser. This unit has become my "weekly" basket and getting ready in the morning has been great. It has lots of space for palettes which are my favorite, and the drawer holds the smaller stuff I use. I do have two foundations on my dresser as well. When it's time to get ready, I'm no longer overwhelmed and can quickly find what I need.

I'm also on a low buy because makeup is makeup. I have to realize that I'm an average makeup wearer and there's no point to have such a huge collection. I'll admit that eyeshadow and face palettes are a weakness, but I need to be more selective. It's so easy to get caught up in buying more and more products but if you're not able to enjoy them, what's the point? If I'm going to use a product, write a review and put it away...I'm not enjoying it. I'm trying to follow this in different areas of my life as well. I've been decluttering and cleaning and that's what I do when I get overwhelmed.

Being on a low buy does make me wonder where this blog will go. I don't want to feel like I need to buy products to keep this blog going. I'll have to come up with some creative content. I'm not ready to give up on this blog, but it's not going to be an excuse to buy more products. I'm a much happier person when I have organization. I do well when every thing in my home, has a home and can be easily put away.

What do you think of your collection? Do you need to declutter?
