Cheekbone Beauty Wishlist : Cheek Palette, Liquid Lipsticks

Cheekbone Beauty Wishlist : Cheek Palette, Liquid Lipsticks

Cheekbone Beauty has been a brand that I've kept my eye on since I discovered them. They have Canadian made cosmetics and the owner Jenn Harper strives to support First Nations Education by donating 10% of the profits. If you know me, you know I'm a Mi'gmaq First Nation and I wholeheartedly believe that great change can be made through knowledge and education. The mission of Cheekbone Beauty makes me so thrilled that Jenn is working to make a change. Great achievements can be made with numbers, and the time is now. Why does this mission mean alot to me? Well education funding for Indigenous youth living on reserve is typically 30 to 50 percent less than those kids not living on reserve. As a mother, I want more for our indigenous youth.

First, I want to mention that I have become a brand ambassador for Cheekbone Beauty. I'm so happy to stand behind a brand like this and I hope I can get the word out about this company. I have purchased their Sundance Lip gloss (Review) and I use it often. I would welcome all the glosses into my home, because those are my favorite lip products. The cheek palette (Stardust palette) has been on my wishlist for awhile, and I will be picking it up soon. I mostly use face palettes, and this trio seems like it would be great for every day wear. There is also a contour palette called Earth, if you are interested.

If you know me, you also know I'm not a big lipstick person but their liquid Lipsticks in Melina (Rosy Peachy Nude) and Ashley (Plum Rose Pink) are on my wishlist. These seem like two nude shades that I would wear and like to have in my collection. These liquid lips claim to be matte and last up to 8 hours. The entire liquid lip range has names of strong women who have empowered our communities and that alone makes me happy. I would love to do an entire post about these women and the lipsticks.

At this time, I do have a discount code for anyone that is interested; it will give you 10% off. You can use discount code JENNR66. You can go to their site here. Thank you so much for your support! I will also keep a banner on my site.

Revolution Pro Unleashed Palette (Review and Swatches)

Revolution Pro Unleashed Palette (Review and Swatches)

This is a palette that really surprised me, I had it in my collection for months before I finally started playing around with it. Previously, I was intimidated by colorful eyeshadows especially purples. You often hear about how hard purples are to work with. I've recently started to try more in terms of shade selection and I discovered that purple isn't as scary as I thought it was. Blend and build and you'll be okay. Revolution Beauty have a Revolution Pro range and these Regeneration palettes have really become favorites of mine. They tend to be around 12$, and they blend easily. I prefer these palettes over the Reloaded palettes which are more popular.

January Haul (Morphe, Sephora, NYX, Curling Wand 5-1)

January Haul (Morphe, Sephora, NYX, Amazon Curling Wand 5-1)

I slowed down my purchases in January, and these were all purchased at the end of the month. This month has been a bit strange, after the holidays I've felt pretty drained. My husband had a never ending cold, and that took a toll on us. My mother in law has also been feeling unwell, and we like to check up on her daily. Our weather has been all over the place and I haven't been motivated. I really need to see the sun, and it hasn't been around much. I really hope to work through this for February. I don't like feeling unproductive and unmotivated.

Zoella Milky Way Bath Powder and Star Glazer Lip Balm Duo

Zoella Milky Way Bath Powder and Star Glazer Lip Balm Duo

Can we talk about the packaging and how beautiful it is? The cosmic design of the Zoella Christmas collection 2018 really caught my eye. I was gifted both of these around the holidays and decided to review them. In Canada Zoella Beauty products can be purchased at London Drugs, select Pharmasave and Familiprix stores. This collection also included a hand cream and fragrance mist quad. I would have like to try those as well.

January Reading Log Part 1 (The Alice Network, 99 Percent, Trickster Drift)

January Reading Log Part 1 (The Alice Network, 99 Percent, Trickster Drift)

The Alice Network by Kate Quinn (Source: Personal Copy)

I started the year reading The Alice Network after reading rave reviews. Historical fiction has always been a favorite genre of mine. I wanted to start my reading year out strong, and picked this up. It’s 1947, Charlie St Clair is pregnant and told by her “proper” parents that she “needs to take care of it” because there is no husband around. Charlie uses the overseas trip to breaks free, and discover what really happened to her missing cousin Rose during the war. She has one lead, and shows up on Eve Gardiner’s doorstep. Eve is not the most welcoming,  she has no intention of helping Charlie- until she utters a name that Eve hasn’t heard in decades. Eve turns out to be a former spy during the war. This dual narrative read is truly captivating. 5/5 Stars

BH Cosmetics Desert Oasis (Review and Swatches) Neutral palette

BH Cosmetics Desert Oasis (Review and Swatches) Neutral palette

When I was new to makeup and building my collection, I frequently purchased from BH Cosmetics. It's been awhile since I picked up anything, not because of negative experiences just that I was trying other brands. The Desert Oasis was around the beauty community, and I heard so many positive things about this palette. Influencers were saying that it was their best formula to date, and I really wanted to give it a try.

5 Positive Makeup and Beauty Habits

5 Positive Makeup and Beauty Habits

Do you have routines and habits? Do you try to form new habits? I've heard that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I do well with good routines, and habits. If something becomes a habit, it's something that you just do. It doesn't feel like you're overreaching and making something difficult. If you think of it as a task, it's less likely to happen. I'm the same with my makeup habits.

Here are 5 Makeup Habits that are positive and good to put into your routine.

Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum Review

Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum Review

The Korres Wild Rose 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum claims to be "a powerful 15% vitamin C brightening bi-phase serum that helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots, dullness and skin discolorations for luminous skin." I've been using it for a few months, and decided it was time to give it a review. When it comes to skincare it takes me awhile to review the products because I want to really see what it does to my skin and I feel like it takes awhile to test it out.

Current Complexion Products Winter, Dry Skin Edition

Current Complexion Products Winter, Dry Skin Edition

It's winter, it's very cold outside and my skin tends to get dry. It has been doing much better this winter because I have a skincare routine in place. When it comes to my complexion, I was looking for radiance and hydration. This winter, I found a great selection of products that I've been really enjoying. As usual there's a mix of drugstore and higher end products.

ColourPop Sol Palette (Review and Swatches)

ColourPop Sol Palette (Review and Swatches)

Colourpop recently had free worldwide shipping, and one of the palettes that I picked up was the Sol palette. I had my eye on it for awhile and thought this would be a great time to pick it up. For some reason I thought this palette would be more red and less orange. When I first opened it up, I thought....oh, this wasn't what I expected. However, I really come to enjoy this palette.

December Makeup Haul (Pharmaprix, Mascara, Urban Decay, Quo)

December Makeup Haul (Pharmaprix, Mascara, Urban Decay, Quo)

If you're a blogger on a budget or want to watch what you're spending- keep track of it. Each month, I list out what I purchase and keep a total. It adds up fast and seeing the total can really keep you on track. I decided that I would start showing my monthly makeup/beauty hauls and December was a great month to start. I didn't really buy alot because I had so much Christmas stuff going on. I mentioned being more intentional with what I purchase this year, and I've been doing pretty good. So here is what I picked up:

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette (Review and Swatches)

Urban Decay Naked Cherry (Review and Swatches)

I had my eye on the Naked Cherry palette since it launched, and I managed to stay away until I had enough points collected at my local drugstore to get it for free. Looking at this palette, many of the colors could be found in other palettes, it wasn't a palette I had to have right away. I wrote a post here, when I was trying to talk myself out of this palette. When I finally had my hands on it, I couldn’t wait to give it a try.
