Conair InfinitiPro Ultra Deep Wave Styler Review

Conair InfinitiPro Ultra Deep Wave Styler Review

When I was a teenager I was never able to purchase heat tools from a box store because they would never get hot enough to do anything with my long thick hair. I was always disappointed. The Conair InfinitiPro Ultra Deep Waver was gifted to me to try out and I was pretty skeptical. The thought of deep waves was intriguing but I wondered if it would work. Short story, it did and I really love using this tool. This tool has titanium ceramic coated plates and heats up very quickly. I haven't timed it but it does say 30- second instant heat. It's very lightweight and not cumbersome to use. I've seen some other waver tools and they look large and tricky to use, I had no trouble with this one. Even trying to get as close to my roots as possible was pretty easy. Again, I have a lot of hair and I didn't feel like the tool was too heavy after doing all my hair.

Tarte Cosmetics High Tides & Good Vibes Palette (Review and Swatches)

Tarte high Tides & Good Vibes Palette (Review and Swatches)

Tarte Cosmetics released the High Tide & Good Vibes palette and I wasn't initially interested. The stock photos did not interest me. However, when I saw an actual photo on Instagram I was shocked by how pretty it looked. Seriously, brands need to look at their stock photos and realize how important they are to consumers. This palette has mattes, metallics and pressed glitters which makes it a really fun palette to play with. I was drawn to the colour story when looking at the palette. It gives me the trendy blue eyeshadow but also gives me corals and neutrals and keeps it very wearable for every day.

Lip Products | Easy, Quick, No Fuss

Lip Products | Easy, Quick, No Fuss

Lip products have never been my favourite items when it comes to makeup, my weakness has always been eyeshadow. I slowly kept adding products into my rotation and now I've started to be more curious about lip products. When it comes to lip products I want something comfortable on the lips, I don't want to worry about it slipping and sliding and looking awful throughout the day. I want something that I can apply quickly, easily and no make a fuss over it. I do work full time, and I want a lip product to wear away without it looking bad and I don't have to worry about it.

Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fussy

The Fenty Gloss Bombs have been raved about since they were released and I was really curious about all the hype. I thought the shade Fussy would suit me best and decided to give it a try. The formula is lightweight, non-sticky and leaves a nice colour on my lips. It also smells wonderful when applying. I will say the applicator does pick up a lot of product and I usually wipe some off before applying to my lips, otherwise, it's way too much and feels too thick on my lips. At this time, Fenty has 3 shades available and I would love to own the others as well. You can wear them on their own or apply on top of other lip products.

Cheekbone Beauty (Canadian Made Cosmetics Supporting First Nation Education) Stardust Cheek Palette

Cheekbone Beauty (Canadian Made Cosmetics Supporting First Nation Education) Stardust Cheek Palette

If you haven't noticed I have a weakness for eyeshadow palettes and cheek palettes. I really can't help it, but I am aware of the situation. Cheekbone Beauty is a brand that I love, and I am a brand ambassador. The products are Canadian made, and 10% of profits are used to support equal educations for First Nations children. I'm so excited to see this brand grow and thrive. I had my eye on the Stardust palette since it launched and I did mention it in a previous post but I decided to give it a full review. I recently added the contour trio to my collection as well and will review it after I've had a chance to test it.

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation Review (Raved About Favourite)

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation Review Cult Favorite

The L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundation has been raved about for years in the beauty community, it has been compared to Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation over and over. Going into this foundation review I expected a lot from this foundation since it has been so hyped up. In general, I really do like L'Oreal foundations both the Pro Glow (Review) and the new Infallible Fresh Wear (Review) are favourites of mine. The True Match Lumi claims to be "makeup that creates skin so healthy-it's luminous!" It has 40% pure water for all-day hydration, antioxidants, Vitamin C and E. The coverage is lightweight and builds to about a medium coverage, available in 14 shades. Let's get into my thoughts.

New Sigma and Mac Brushes in My Collection (Investing in good brushes)

New Sigma and Mac Brushes in My Collection (Are Sigma and Mac Brushes Worth it?)

Recently I decided to invest in some brushes and I was really happy with the few Sigma brushes that I owned. I decided to add more brushes to my collection. They're very soft, wash well and apply shadow nicely. Sigma is pretty easy for me to get my hands on in Canada and they do have a 2-year warranty. I was ready to put away the cheaper natural haired brushes that I own. They're pretty scratchy on my eyes and when washes they really don't keep the same form. As you grow and learn about applying makeup you know what you like and it's easier to invest in better brushes. I also found a Mac 217 at my local Winners and I was so excited to finally try the 217. I was going to go to the Mac store and spend the 30$ on the brush but I found it for half off which I was really happy about.

Sigma E40- Tapered Blending Brush (purchase)

The Sigma E40 is a perfect brush for laying down your transition shade or blending out harsh lines during eye shadow application. The E40 fits my eye shape perfectly and this cult classic brush is a favourite for a reason.

Sigma E38- Diffused Crease (purchase)

The Sigma E38 Diffused Crease brush is smaller, shorter and a bit denser than the E40. I like to use this brush for building up my crease since it's denser it builds up colour very easily and you can still blend with this brush.

Boxycharm April 2019 Unboxing (Peace, Love and Boxy) Canadian Subscriber

Boxycharm April 2019 Unboxing (Peace, Love and Boxy) Canadian Subscriber

Do you remember mystery bags when we were children and how excited we were to dig into those bags? They had candy or small toys. Well, that's how I feel about monthly subscription boxes and why I think they do so well. They cater to your interest. and these monthly subscriptions tap into our inner children. Boxycharm costs me 35$ Canadian once I factor in the small shipping cost and the exchange rate, on the plus side I'm never charges customs. The box itself is valued way over 100$ when you think of Canadian prices. So, let's get into this box.

Cover FX Perfector Face Palette (Light/Medium) Review and Swatches

Cover FX Perfector Face Palette (Light/Medium) Review and Swatches

Cover FX recently released two Perfector face palettes, one in light/medium and another in medium/deep. I received the light/medium in a recent Boxycharm subscription box. This palette can be purchased from Sephora for the price of 57$ Canadian. When you open this palette, you will see two highlighters, a brightener, contour, finishing powder, and blush. As a working mom, I like palettes that I can use for multiple purposes and be able to do my makeup quickly. This palette claims to be "a travel-friendly palette of six must-have complexion essentials designed to be taken on-the-go."

Makeup Radar (Farsali 24K Rose Gold Mist, Mac Flame-boyant, Tarte High Tide and Good Vibes, Marc Jacobs Primer, Natasha Denona Concealer, Morphe 35G, Colourpop Sweet Talk, Alamar Cosmetics Blush Trio)

Makeup Radar (Farsali 24K Rose Gold Mist, Mac Flame-boyant, Tarte High Tide and Good Vibes, Marc Jacobs Primer, Natasha Denona Concealer)

Spring is here, and so are all the new collections. I can't help but look at all the new releases. I do get tempted by them, but I also have a budget. I can't purchase all of them but I did want to talk about some of them and let you know my thoughts.

Farsali Rose Gold 24K Skin Mist (Purchase)

I didn't know until recently that Farsali was a Canadian brand, and now they catch my eye that much more. This is "four-in-one wonder for all skin types, infused with gold flakes and rosehip seed oil." It is supposed to be hydrating and alcohol-free.  This bottle looks like luxury, and I would love to try it out. It has a hefty price tag of 52$ Canadian thought and for that reason, I won't be adding it to my wishlist. I go through facial mists pretty quickly and the thought of continually repurchasing a 52$ mist wouldn't work for me. If I had the chance to try it, I would love to. I'm being honest here.

Makeup Revolution Beauty Reloaded Hypnotic Palette (Review and Swatches) (ABH Sultry Dupe?)

Makeup Revolution Beauty Reloaded Hypnotic Palette (Review and Swatches) (ABH Sultry Dupe?)

Makeup Revolution launched four new popular Reloaded palettes, and the hypnotic palette caught my eye immediately. I thought it looks like a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hill Sultry Palette and the new Urban Decay Naked Reloaded. I don't own either of those palettes but the colour story looks really similar. The Sultry palette was limited edition and no longer available so this might be a nice replacement. I own quite a few of the Reloaded palettes and they have been hit or miss for me, but this palette seems to be stepped up in terms of formula.

Clean Reserve Solar Bloom Review

Clean Reserve Solar Bloom Review

Clean Beauty is now 15 years old, and they are rebranding as Clean Beauty Collective. This encompasses the Clean and Clean Reserve fragrances and a new home, hair, bath and body line that will launch in 2019 and 2020. I was previously at an event to see the new upcoming launches and I was gifted the Solar Bloom fragrance. I have a very sensitive nose and stay away from fragrances, but when I tried the Solar Bloom I fell in love. The keynotes in this fragrance are Bergamot, Orange Blossom and Coconut Water. It smells very refreshing, it's not overpowering and I stop noticing it pretty quickly after applying. I will smell it throughout the day but subtly.

Ojibwe Cosmetics Cotton Candy Palette (Review and Swatches)

Ojibwe Cosmetics Cotton Candy Palette (Review and Swatches)

This palette stole my heart when I saw it on Instagram, and I couldn't wait to give this a try. One of my goals this year is to be mindful of the brands I'm adding to my collection, and who I'm choosing to support. I do receive some PR but I mostly purchase the products on my own. As an indigenous woman who is asking the beauty community for inclusivity when it comes to us, I want to do my part by supporting the Indigenous women and men in the community as well as the brands. Ojibwe Cosmetics caught my eye on Instagram, and I checked out the store to see what was available. They have eyeshadows, lipsticks, highlighters, brow pomade, pressed powders and foundation. Of course, the palette was what I chose to try out first.

E.L.F 16HR Camo Concealer (Shape Tape Dupe?)

E.L.F 16HR Camo Concealer (Shape Tape Dupe?)

The E.L.F 16HR Camo Concealer has been another concealer that has a doe foot applicator and many influencers are comparing to Shape Tape. This concealer comes in 16 shades, is full coverage and costs about 5$. I'm not sure if this can be found in Walmart Canada stories but I waited and purchased mine from the ELF website when they were offering free shipping. It helped to keep this an affordable concealer when shipping internationally. I was really excited about this concealer because I like full coverage concealers, and I love a doe foot applicator when applying concealer.
