The Eden series by Devney Perry has been a four or five-star series for me. I couldn't wait to pick up the fifth book in the series, Crimson River. In this romantic suspect novel, we have Lyla Eden, one of the Eden siblings who can always be found at her coffee shop. When her sister demands she takes the day off because it's been one hundred days since her last day off, no one could possibly imagine that Lyla would find herself the victim of an attack. When the local police department quickly has no leads, Lyla puts her trust in Vance who has come to track down the man who he believes has killed before. Vance has been trying to track down this man for years, and he won't give up.

I really enjoyed reading about Lyla and Vance. However, I found the pacing to be off when it came to Lyla recovering from her attack. It felt like the attack had just happened, and she was impatient about moving on from it. Of course, I was reading for the romance but the suspense really drew me in too. The ending was a bit different from what I was expecting, but overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

If you haven't read The Eden series by Devney Perry- it's one of my favorite series. Each book follows a different member of the family and their love story. There will be six books total, you don't have to read them in order. They can be read as standalone novels. Devney Perry has a large backlist and I do have others on my 'tbr' list. Steel King and Coach are two I hope to get to soon.

Rating: 4/5 stars

Happy Reading!
