Revlon Rose Glow Illuminating and Hydrating Primer

The Revlon Rose Glow Hydrating and Illuminating Primer was a new find at my local drugstore. I'm not sure how new it is because beauty products do get to Canada a bit later. This is a Photoready product in Revlon's line. You know I love the L'Oreal Glotion and thought this might be another base product that I would love. It claims to have "many benefits, one little bottle; smoothes skin for foundation, deposits a rosy pearlescence; plus, it helps skin feel hydrated for up to 24 hours." I thought it would be another product I would like on its own when wanting to forgo the foundation.

It does leave a nice pearlescence on the skin, and I would wear it on its own but I will need to powder it because it does dry down tacky. As a primer, this tacky base is nice. Some people think a tacky base helps to hold the foundation on longer. I don't have issues with foundation lasting, so I can't confirm. This does have little oil beads and botanical extracts to help keep the skin hydrated. I don't tend to get a lot of beads when picking up the products and they are easy to blend into the skin and meltdown. Another mention is that it dries down quickly, and it is a water based primer.

Overall verdict: I really do like this. It has a rose scent which is not my favourite but it's not overpowering. I think it's great under makeup, and I will wear it on its own.

  5. It looks very pretty in the bottle. I avoid glow-y bases as I have super oily skin. But sometimes it looks good under the matte foundations. Would love to try. :-)
