I Didn't Know I Needed an Apple Watch Until I Had One (Apple Watch Series 1 42mm)

I Didn't Know I Needed an Apple Watch Until I Had One (Apple Watch Series 1 42mm)

This past Christmas my husband gifted me an Apple watch, and I didn't know how much I would love it until I used it for a while. The first few days I used it, I was home not doing much and didn't really understand the hype. Then I went back to work and the notifications changed my life. A large part of my day I'm working on a PC and not looking at my phone, and the notifications would alert me to things that I would miss. I do not have my email set up because I would receive far too many alerts but text messages, twitter replies those sort of notifications is welcomed during the day.

I have the Series 1 42mm watch in black. I immediately went looking for a different watch band and found that Amazon had beautiful options for a very good price.  I love the variety of bands that are available. I can easily and quickly switch out my band and go about my day. The band I bought also came with a tool to remove links and it was so easy to do. I didn't even have to take it to a jeweller to size.

Phone Calls. If you're like me; your phone is on vibrate and in your purse when you're out an about and you miss a call. Now, the watch will vibrate and I can answer quickly. This is especially important to me because I don't want to miss a call from my son's daycare. I would feel awful if he wasn't feeling well and I missed a call. I can also just answer from my phone if I don't know where my phone is. There is also a button you can click to ping your phone! Yes, I've used that one quite a bit. I found my phone every time.

Battery is pretty good. I charge it every night but I'm sure I can go two or more days on one charge. It doesn't replace my phone but it is a great add on that enhances my phone. I haven't installed many apps but there are quite a few available. The watch face is also customizable and I love having the date and time as well as the weather available at a glace. I set the wallpaper and it matches my phone and Ipad.

The Activity tracker is also fun to look at. I don't check it every day but I do like to take a look when I know I've walked alot or I want to see what my average was for the week. I think this is great for those who want to keep a minimum of steps throughout the day.

Would I go without a smartwatch? I would be really sad if my watch broke, and I would make it a priority to replace it. My biggest enjoyment of the watch is having the peace of mind that I won't miss anything important. If my husband is working late, he can text and I won't miss it. I can also send him a quick message from the watch and he knows I received it. Also, knowing I won't miss a call from the daycare is big. I don't have to worry anymore.

  1. Wow, this looks like a useful watch! I've inherited my mother's Gucci watch though, so I think I'll have to stick with that one!
