Book Review: Bright Side by Kim Holden (Book Recommendation)

Book Review: Bright Side by Kim Holden (Book Recommendation)

This is a book I had on my Kindle for a while and finally decided to read it. I went into this one not knowing anything about it, I'm sure I heard someone on Youtube mention it was a great book and I added it to my Kindle. Going in not knowing much about it was great and it really added to the experience. In short, I loved this book and you should read it too.

We begin the book with our main character, Kate Sedgewick arriving in Minnesota and about to start college. She drove across the country by herself, we know she's endured trauma, but she tends to be optimistic and to always look for the bright side of things. Kate gives others the benefit of the doubt, she's positive and uplifting and very loyal. Her relationship with her childhood best friend named Gus is solid and heartwarming. Gus is about to tour the world, and this is the first time the friends are separated. They constantly keep in contact and readers will love their banter. Kate soon meets Keller at the local coffee shop, and while they're both attracted to each other, they both have their secrets and reasons why they shouldn't get involved with anyone. I'm not doing this book justice but I don't want to give too much away.
When you finish the book, you will not forget it. This is one of those books that stays with you for years to come. It's one of those books that readers seek out. The entire experience of this book was just breathtaking. It will give you all the feels, I promise you. Yes, this book was emotional - extremely emotional but I loved every single character. If you love the 'found family' trope, you'll love this one. Kate and Gus were amazing. Kate and Keller were thrilling and the cast of her college friends were incredible. Yes, gushing over everyone. Every character in this book stood out, I loved it. You won't put this book down and not question life itself. You'll look around and appreciate the smaller things in life, and those amazing people in your life. Once again, please read this book.

There are three books in this series, the second one is called Gus. It focuses on Gus immediately after this book end and I gave it five stars as well. The third is called, Franco and I will get to it soon.
