Garnier Micellar Water VS Garnier Micellar Gel (Which One Works Better?)

Garnier Micellar Water and Garnier Micellar Gel (Which One Works Better?)

Garnier is a drugstore brand that I absolutely love. Their Moisture Rescue Moisturizer is a favorite during the cooler month. I purchased a Garner Micellar Water due to the positive reviews I read. I don't often purchase micellar water, I prefer cleanser removers but wanted to try something new. I was provided a Garnier Micellar Gel for review purposes and thought it would be fun to compare the two. Both of these products claim to remove all of your makeup on your face, eyes and lips. They're dermatological and ophthalmologically tested. I have sensitive/dry skin and very sensitive eyes which is why I don't like micellar waters because they tend to burn my eyes. Both of these didn't burn my eyes, which I was very happy about.
What is the difference between a water and a gel? The consistency. A micellar water essentially has the consistency of water. It spills easily, has to be applied with a cotton pad and gel is easier to control. I apply the gel with my fingers, and rub it in with circular motions. A little bit of gel goes a long way, while the Micellar water seems to need more product and needs replacing quicker. Since you're using a cotton pad, it does absorb and therefore you use more product. If you're looking to go easy on the budget, I would recommend the gel.

Removing my makeup, they were both sufficient and got the job done. The water did better when trying to remove waterproof mascara. When I'm using the gel, I also noticed that I need to rinse my eyes quite a bit to ensure there is no residue left over. Any residue will irritate my eyes. If I rinse it well, I'm good. I don't have this problem with the water. Another con for the gel was the packaging. I couldn't close to pump to take it on vacation. I'm not sure if this was my bottle or they are all like that. I would have loved for it to be in a squeeze tube. Garnier, thoughts?

Which is my favorite between the two? The gel. I don't wear waterproof mascara most days, so that's not really a problem. On those days. I can grab the water or just take my time with the gel. The gel version will last me much longer than the water version. It's also easier to use, not needing a cotton pad. Again, it's not that surprising to me because I prefer more solid products to remove my makeup. A favorite is the Pond's Cold Cream, you can read my review here. I would absolutely repurchase the gel version, the water I would look for a sale but it's worth picking up too.

*Garnier Micellar Gel product was provided in exchange for a possible review. Opinions are 100% my own.
