Boscia Charcoal Makeup Melter Review (Sephora)

Boscia Charcoal Makeup Melter Review (Sephora)

Makeup remover is one of my favorite things to test out. As a busy mom, I want to remove my makeup in the quickest time possible. I also prefer not to look like a panda bear in the morning due to unwashed mascara; my dark circles are all my son's fault and they don't need to look any worst due to a poor makeup remover. I was new to a charcoal makeup remover and decided to try out this Boscia version. My first impressions were "oh, it's thick."

This product claims to be good for all skin types. I have normal to dry skin, mostly on the drier side. It is a cleansing oil-balm that's supposed to melt into the skin to thoroughly remove makeup while deep cleansing and keeping you hydrated. I will tell you that it works well, but it's hard to work with when you first start using it, due to the thick texture. It doesn't "easily melt into your skin" as it claims. I recommend, using the spatula to remove some product, apply small amounts around the face and then start to add warm water to help break it down. This will help spread it around the face. If I go in with just the product, it's too thick and tugs at my skin while I'm trying to move it around. I have no issues applying this around my eye area, it doesn't burn or sting my eyes which is a huge bonus for me.

Would I recommend this product? Yes but please keep reading. I do think it effectively removes my makeup including waterproof mascara. However, I prefer the Boscia Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil (here) over this Makeup Melter (here.) The cleansing oil breaks down the makeup much faster and easier. I'm looking to repurchase that one because I really enjoyed the samples that I tried.
